Switch your bank account and join us
Why not switch banks?
Our switching specialists have helped over half a million customers move from their old bank to us with our free switching service. And they're here to help you too.
If you are a new customer looking for a bank account that rewards loyalty or you already have a Bank of Scotland bank account, you can use our switching service to transfer your direct debits, standing orders and other regular payments from your existing bank.
With the help of our dedicated switching team, moving bank accounts will take less than a month.
Here's how the switching process works:
- You give us your existing bank account details online.
- We set up a fee-free overdraft on your account for 90 days* to cover any outgoings – we aim to match the overdraft on the bank account you are switching from
- If you have or choose to take out an Ultimate Reward Current Account then, after 90 days*, the first £300 of an arranged overdraft will remain fee-free. Over £300, we'll simply charge a daily overdraft fee each day you use your overdraft
- If you have or choose to take out either a Reward Current Account or a Current Account, then if you're overdrawn after 90 days* we will charge daily fees that are easy to understand
- We contact your old bank straight away and arrange for all your regular payments to be transferred to your Bank of Scotland current account.
- We make sure all your bills and other payments are paid on time while the switch happens.
- We keep you updated along the way and let you know when the switch is complete.
