Bank of Scotland

Switching your bank account to us is easy

Switching to Bank of Scotland couldn't be easier - our switching team will do it all for you.

  What you have to do

 What we do

Fill in and sign two forms and pay £100 into your new current account.

  • Contact your bank for a list of all direct debits and standing orders. We then send this to you for you to check. We'll also give you an interest and fee-free overdraft for 120 days to cover your spending while we switch your account.

  • Switch your direct debits, standing orders and automatic payments in (like your salary) to your new account.

  • Once the switch is complete, we'll send you a letter confirming what we've switched. You can keep track of your switch at www.bankofscotland.co.uk/online  or call 08457 21 31 41.

Notes

  • You can only use the switching service to transfer your bank account from another bank or building society to a Bank of Scotland current account.
  • We rely on the organisations you pay by direct debit to amend their records.
  • We rely on the organisations you pay by direct debit and your previous bank or building society to be prompt. If they do not respond quickly, this could delay the process of switching your bank account to us.
  • Your employer or pension provider is responsible for changing their records and paying your salary or pension into your new account.
