Mobile alerting service
Mobile alerting service
We know that keeping track of your money isn’t always easy. So, to give you a little helping hand, we’re offering a free* mobile alerting service on our Reward Current Account, Ultimate Reward Current Account and Current Account.
How it works
• If you go into an unarranged overdraft, we’ll send you a text message to let you know.
• If you stay in an unarranged overdraft, we’ll make sure we send you a reminder every seven days or so.
• We’ll stop sending you texts once you’re back within your arranged overdraft or in credit.
An unarranged overdraft is an overdraft that you have not arranged with us in advance.
It’s easy to register for the service.
• Online at bankofscotland.co.uk
• call 08457 21 31 41, or
• pop into any of our branches.
* We will not charge you for this service, but if you receive texts whilst abroad, your network service provider may charge you.
Some important information you need to know
1. We will normally send unarranged overdraft alert texts from 8am–8pm Tuesday to Friday and 10am–8pm on a weekend.
2. The mobile alerting service should be used to help you manage your account and not as a way of avoiding any unarranged overdraft fees that may apply. You’re still responsible for regularly checking your account balance. The service is not immediate and it may take up to 2 days for your phone to receive the alert text message.
3. Within 24 hours of a successful registration, you will receive a welcome text confirming that the service is active. We’ll send only one confirmation text.
4. Texts can’t be re-sent.
5. For joint account holders, each customer wishing to register for the mobile alerting service will need to individually register.
6. Only one mobile phone number per account holder can be registered for the mobile alerting service on your account.
7. Bank of Scotland will not charge you for this service, but if you receive texts while abroad, your network service provider may charge you.
8. It is your responsibility to ensure that the texts you receive are kept securely on your mobile phone.
9. You can let us know if you change your mobile phone number through our online service or in any of our branches.
10. If your mobile phone is lost or stolen or you just want to cancel the mobile alerting service, you can do so through our online service, by telephone on 08457 21 31 41 or in any of our branches.
11. This service is only available on Reward Current Account, Ultimate Reward Current Account and Current Account.
